US Numbers and Projections

Here are today's numbers and projections for the United States:
  • US Confirmed Cases: 5,410
  • US Confirmed Deaths:96
  • US Death Rate: 1.77%
The five-day moving average of the doubling period has shortened slightly to 2.5 days. Based on today's date, number of confirmed cases, and the current doubling period, here are today's projections:
  • 10,000 Cases: March 19 (two days from now)
  • 100,000 Cases: March 28 (eleven days from now)
  • 1,000,000 Cases: April 5 (about three weeks from now)

  1. A point to consider to go into the "Positive News" category. China's curve flattened on day 27 (starting point on 100 confirmed cases). Their current confirmed cases are at 81,000. You take the liberty of extrapolating past 27 days for U.S @ 1,000,000 cases without additional commentary. Fascinating.
