      • Global Death Rate: 4.35%
The global data continues to exhibit some unwanted trends. First, the five-day moving average for the global doubling period is going down and stands at 6.5 days. This means, globally, confirmed cases are doubling more quickly. Second, the death rate continues to rise, from 3.8% a week ago to 4.4% today.

Based on today's cases and the current doubling period, here are the projections for the world if nothing changes and the doubling period remains constant:

      • 500,000 Cases: March 27 (five days from now)
      • 1,000,000 Cases: April 3 (about two weeks from now)
      • 10,000,000 Cases:  April 24 (about five weeks from now)
      • 100,000,000 Cases: May 18 (about eight weeks from now)
